and Albania has decided to boost cooperation on the energy sector.
Albania is seeking Indian investment in the Oil and Gas sector.Damian
Gjiknuri, Minister for Energy and Industry, Albania met the Minister
of State (I/C) for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan here
on Wednesday.
The
Albanian Minister stated that his country has oil and gas producing
fields and welcomed a technical team from India to look into the data
before taking a decision on investment.The two sides agreed to
explore all avenues of cooperation in hydrocarbon sector, including
exploration & production and city gas distribution.
Meanwhile,
India is making efforts to boost Reaserch and Development in the area
of energy. The IITs(Indian Institute of Technology) and the ONGC have
agreed to work towards a collective R&D Programme for Developing
Indigenous Technologies to enhance Exploration and Exploitation of
Hydrocarbons and Alternate Sources of Energy.
